FloodMapp offers real-time flood forecasting and mapping using cutting edge technology. We work with large organizations across the public and private sector to improve safety and prevent damage.

Your Role & Responsibilities:

At FloodMapp, you will:

  • Review historical hydrographs and meteorological data to identify noise, erroneous data or unusual behaviour. 

  • Use FloodMapp system tools (including GIS tools) to flag or correct data to ensure smooth operations of model training pipeline. 

  • Develop and apply an understanding of hydrology and relevant data sources to improve data related outcomes. 

  • Identify trends and patterns in the data across regions and across time. 

  • Use external sources of information (BOM, state agencies, etc.) to flag or correct data. 

  • Work with the Data Science team to identify opportunities for improvements to the review process. 

  • Contribute to the requirements, design and implementation of FloodMapp tools. 

  • Contribute to the requirements, design and implementation of automated data processing pipelines. 

 

Your Skills & Background:

Required:

  • Currently studying or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science. 

 

It’s great, but not required if you have:

  • Previous study or experience in 

    • Hydrology, hydraulics or flood engineering 

    • Statistics, data analysis pr signals processing 

    • Software development using Python or SQL
