Flooding is the costliest natural disaster, causing billions in damage and taking thousands of lives across the globe every year. FloodMapp’s live flood mapping products ForeCast, NowCast and PostCast support emergency managers with operational impact intelligence before, during and after flood events to enhance preparedness, response and recovery. We work with Government and Critical Infrastructure to improve public safety and prevent damage in the event of flooding.

The Role
As our Head of Sales, you'll direct our sales and partnership strategy. Joining a rapidly growing tech company, this role will be hands on. You’ll be involved in the end-to-end sales process from prospecting new leads to closing major contracts. You’ll also form strategic partnerships with key stakeholders across government agencies and industry bodies. Your mission will be to grow a portfolio of enterprise accounts with government and critical infrastructure to fuel the growth of the company.
You will also help us build and develop the sales team across AUS and USA, securing the talent we need, coaching and leading them to achieve our growth targets. You’ll update our systems, tools and processes to support our sales performance reporting. Ultimately, you'll be helping protect organizations and communities from the devastating impacts of floods.
Responsibilities

Recruit and hire top talent to build our sales team in the USA.

Train, develop and mentor the team on our product value proposition and effective enterprise sales process.

Develop and execute the company’s sales strategy to build a repeatable and scalable sales process.

Lead the team to excel in achievement of defined quotas and growth targets.

Update systems, tools and processes to support forecasting and sales performance reporting.

Manage and build a growing pipeline and CRM of qualified opportunities, that enables you to meet monthly activity goals.

Maintain and strengthen relationships with our clients to provide a smooth and positive experience during the sales & onboarding process.

Manage outbound prospecting activities (conferences, calls, emails, LinkedIn, and other channels)

Manage inbound lead channels to explore and qualify sales opportunities

Schedule and attend sales meetings with prospective economic buyers

Demonstrate a strategic, consultative value-based selling approach and work with internal stakeholders to deliver the optimum solution for customers.

Work with our Digital Marketing team to optimize engagement and lead generation process to generate new business opportunities.

Travel and attend relevant conferences and networking events to engage with prospective customers to continue building the sales pipeline.

Develop highly professional and winning sales proposals

Commercial Contract discussions and negotiations.
Skills & Background
Required skills and experience
-
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in enterprise sales, ideally with government agencies and/or critical infrastructure.

Previous experience developing and leading a sales and BD function

Excellent relationship building, networking and interpersonal skills

Highly skilled in negotiations

A strong track record in stakeholder engagement for complex projects

Highly articulate and confident presenting in front of customers, and in a conference environment

Demonstrated experience in qualification of leads and opportunities

Excellent time management, prioritization and organizational skills

Ability to show initiative, problem solve and take ownership of your goals and work autonomously to achieve them

Goal oriented and driven to achieve stretch targets

Working knowledge and experience of procurement channels and budget cycles

Experience with executing the whole sales cycle from initial call, securing contracts, and supporting customers for ongoing business opportunities.

Experience selling technical, licensed software as a service products

Experience with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS)
