November 2, 2022 – FloodMapp received the Esri Partner Award for Comprehensive GIS at the 2022 Esri Infrastructure Management and GIS Conference (IMGIS) held recently in Palm Springs, CA.
Esri, the global leader in geographic information systems (GIS) software, has recognized organizations who have demonstrated innovative and creative ways to solve complex problems through the use of Esri’s ArcGIS software by honouring them with Partner Awards.
To demonstrate FloodMapp’s success in solving complex problems using Esri, FloodMapp showcased their recent work in helping the City of Norfolk to adapt to climate change.
Norfolk has experienced a steady and dramatic increase in tidal flooding over the last 90 years due to the combined effects of rising seas and subsidence. The city needed a solution that was timely, accurate, and targeted, so they turned to RISE Resilience Innovations for help.
FloodMapp worked with the City of Norfolk to understand the detailed use case requirements to answer RISE’s challenge. Leveraging the power of NowCast’s real-time capability, FloodMapp were able to identify and access the data needed to meet the speed, accuracy, and granularity that Norfolk needed to address the problem. Norfolk City road data was used in FloodMapp RoadSafe, to deliver a powerful live analytics service which predicted flooded roads based on NowCast inundation data.
The solution was delivered to Norfolk’s Esri ArcGIS online platform, where the City officials and emergency managers can view live road conditions that are updated as a flood unfolds. Flooded roads are identified in their ArcGIS online dashboard as a road hazard or closure based on the depth of flooding. FloodMapp was one of 14 Esri partners that received an Esri Partner award at the conference. We congratulate all award winners.
